I posted several pics a few weeks ago of a Krag that I found in my home out East.  Could you and or others view the pics and offer your comments on whether the piece may have been altered post manufacture.  I was wondering if this Krag is common or not so common.  The butt plate had been replaced with a recoil pad (butt plate is gone) and the rear site looks to be "jerry rigged" (no pun intended).  Other than the items mentioned above, it looks original to me.  It does not have matching serial numbers on major parts.  I would like to use it on a range.  Many thanks in advance to anyone who could assist me with this. :) :) :) :)
