Very sorry - my only reaction would have been - Wow, that has to be REALLY rare!!

While a few members do have some knowledge of the Danish and Norwegian repeating rifles, I'd have to guess that probably 90% of the interest here is centered on the U.S. Krag of 1892-1904.

European "one-of-a-kinds" are just not something that we encounter.

I agree.  It looks cool, and I wish I had it in my collection, but I don't know anything about it.

Best regards,
Tom

Thank's just trolling for any info I can find. I'm sure that it's based on a Larsen action, but from what I can find they ( mr. Larsen and Ole Krag were not friends ) So it seems strange that a man who was rising to the top position at the Kongberg armory and a man who desperatly wanted to get a military contract could both have their hands on one rifle. Just trying to put the pieces together. Need to find someone who has access to Kongsberg serial numbers, especially experimental and prototypes. But any backfill would be highly appreciated. Thanks again Todd

Hi. I am reading in the Norwegian bock "Norwegian militeryguns after 1867" that on 24 of september 1869 the Norwegian army comando formed a rifelcomitiom to compere the M/1867 Remington R.B. to new rifels from Krag and Larsen. 10 Larsen guns and 5 Krag guns was used and the Krag guns was made on K.V. And your gun is licly a devolepment of these guns, thre is a picture of the 4"Krag Magasingevær sn.22 and its made in 1869. hope this helped you.

The "3" stamp on the rear sigth is a "verktoymaker" stamp, i got a K.V. Remington R.B. (s.n. 30639 from 1876 , kontroled by Krag personaly. O.K. (Ole Krag) stamped.) with the same 3 stamp at the rear sight. So its made by the same worker at K.V. how made the sight on your gun. The sight is called "Krags sikte" translated Krags sight. Krag made this  sight in 1868 for the Norwegian R.B.
