I have a norwegian krag made by steyr 1897 and I purchased
a bayonet for it.now I cannot figure how to remove it.Any help would be appreciated.thanks swedelover

Press the release knob. If not possible to move, your next step is take the wooden grip of by open the only screw you see. Then you can release the leaver inside and get the bajo of.
