Title: Re: ?? Stomperud Krag ?? Post by mussonor on May 22nd, 2011 at 8:26am
Hi.
To find the best out of what this one has for origion, lets list some facts: - Stompertuds introduced in November 1944- Lowest serial known, NC#673 - Stomperuds assembeled in 1946-1951. Among these known that former NC-m1894 were mod to Stomperuds - Normally the nut for cleaing rod were moved 18 cm back so the original m94 rod could be used. But there is also sead that the shorter rod were used when nut not moved. This was probebly done for those assembeled 46-51. Your rod seem to been a m94 that have been cut to M1912 karabine lenght, and drilled the hole for thightening. - The stock is not drilled out in rear for the cleaning oiler bottle, screwdriver etc. Not done as not needed for the private use they were assembeled for. - Receiver stamped the controller Captain Haakon Finne, controlling krags between 1912-22. - The buttplate serial is for a krag made 1917 There is no 100% conclution for this, but historical facts compered to those features shown on yours, make me to conclude that it is one of those Stomperuds assembelled between 1946-51. |
