Title: Looking for a cut down stock
Post by jabberwacky on Sep 22nd, 2011 at 12:00pm
I purchased a complete Krag minus the stock when a local gunshop went out of business. I now see that is a problem! I'm retired and can't swing a full stock any time soon, but I am dying to shoot the old girl. Anybody have a "bubba-ed" stock for sale?

I don't think I have one, but, you need to let people know whether you need an 1896 or an 1898. The receiver inletting is different. What is the serial number? Break occurs around 108900.

Hey, I like the sounds of a thumbhole stock myself.  Might be interested in buying one for one of my sporters.  If you get a chance could you e-mail me a photo or two and how much you  need for one?

Best regards,

jabberwacky:  Try contacting Dan Lowery mentioned in the KCA classifieds:  oldewoodsman@bellsouth.net.  I believe he has an assortment of salvageable stocks and gives a discount to KCA members.  Chuck McArthur
