SRS = Springfield Research Service, a company founded by the late Frank Mallory, and continued by his friend Wayne Gagner. IMHO, a massive attitudinal change occured after the transfer, and I believe the five (there are two editions of #4) serial number books are out-of-print, with (at one time at least) no plans to reissue them.
