I'm not one of the experts here, hopefully one of them will chime in when they have time.
Without knowing the condition of the bore, etc it would be hard to tell the value by a few pictures. But if it is in fair condition I'm guessing the value between $250 and $300. It was very common for a full length Krag Jorgensen rifle to have the stock and barrel cut back for a woodsier gun to go hunting with. Today, collectors are looking for original military configuration. My guess is that years down the road sporterized versions will escalate in price due to the novelty of a gun being used in the 1920's and later for big game hunting. The action of the gun is a novelty in itself no matter what configuration the gun is in.
Right now I would say that your gun is a shooter more than a collectable. Have a gunsmith check it out, including the cartridge it shoots. There are actually more than two calibers that it could be.
There is much to be learned if you are interested in Krags. Just reading previous posts on this forum will give you much to knowlege.
I'll add that I have a sporter myself which has a lot of similarities to yours. Mine was $300 and needed some attention. I am very happy with it and its a sweet shooting/good handling gun. I would say that you did well with your investment.
