Azpeoria: Go slow and do no harm. Many "gunsmiths" are Bubba! I don't see anything you can not do yourself with some knowledge, proper tools, Hoppe,s #9 & oooo steel wool, flannel rags, boiled linseed oil, and Howard's wax and wood feed. If you go to a gunsmith, make sure he is knowledgeable about antique guns (and specifically Krags). If the gunsmith advises "re-bluing" all the metal or sanding and refinishing the stock, grab your carbine and run away! Chuck
