I reload for my Krags with 165 grain spitzers (pointed), and occasionally 180 grain spitzers.  They don't jam in either of my 1898s.  I believe that it's hit or miss...  jam in some, but not others.  I've also heard that a missing magazine cutoff will cause some feed problems, but that's not the case in my sporter.  There is a remedy for feed problems with spitzers... but some of the more knowledgeable members on this forum should talk about that because I don't have first hand experience.
