Title: Re: cartridge belt or bandoleer Post by Lastchip on Feb 18th, 2012 at 3:43pm
Kirk, Waterman, Thank you for the leads on the belts. The belt write up from S&S seemed interesting, but S&S does not supply any images of the belt and I've never been a fan of buying something sight unseen. The belt with the ebay listing of 380411245785 seemed to be the the choice for me. A good looking belt with a nice buckle and the vintage era feel I wanted.
But then I thought "It be practical if the rounds were completely covered, like the English Bandoliers of the Boar War". Long story short and going with the fact that a 30-40 round is only 0.5mm wider at the shoulder and longer then a .303 Brit, I purchased one of these (You need to Login It has good reviews, seems nicely constructed and looks bad ass in a Breaker Morant kind of way. Not sure if I like its light color finish though, I will most likely darken it to a deep browner tone. |
