Title: Can someone help me with the value of this rifle
Post by george13815 on Mar 3rd, 2012 at 6:42pm
Model 1898 - # 415434 (manufactured in 1902) P in circle on stock, script on left stock of 3 letters then below 1902, no marking on top of barrel like I have on other rifles, U on center swivel/barrel clamp. Nice bluing still (I think anyway) Nice looking gun. I am thinking about purchasing this along with another rifle and would like to know the value so I don't get to burned...lol as you can tell I don't know a lot about this weapon. Thanks in advance

Wait for more knowledgeable people to comment, but in the meantime try to get a picture of the front sight with muzzle, rear sight, hand guard and barrel...those features seem to be indicative of a sporterized or original Krag.

The rifle seems to be uncut and complete. Has some "character" wear on the finish, which to me says it has "been there". I see them selling from $550-$750 in that condition. If the bore is solid with strong rifleing that is a plus.
