I see nothing wrong with it, and, it serves to illustrate just how nice such a piece can look with the rifle sight. It does not detract from wall appeal, or shooting, at all.

There is absolutely NO reason to go hunting for, or fretting about, stock tip abnormalities, when it is the short 30" stock under consideration! Reason, the grasping grooves - which cannot be fooled with, period, are significantly shorter!  It is the later 32" stock where one needs to worry about pin vs. band spring, and the dreaded "added swivels".
