The hand-guard that is on this gun is cracked down the center. I added a picture of this. I also put an arrow where I think you are telling me there should be a bump. I think I will look to replace it with a 1898 hand-guard. I also found The American Krag Rifle and Carbine online, and will order it soon. I believe the picture of the Redfield sight is the same on my gun. Are all cut-off levers the same, or do i need to get one from the same model? Thanks again for the fast response.
