Title: Shoot in Cast Bullet Match Post by psteinmayer on Jun 24th, 2012 at 3:54pm
Shot in my first match yesterday... the Cast Bullet Match at the Washtenaw Sportsman's Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I used my 1898 Rifle with a 1902 rear sight. Loads were 220 grain Hornady jacketed round nose bullets over 40 grains of IMR-4350 and cases were Remington (head stamp R-P 30-40 Krag). Targets were 100 and 200 yards and my total score was 274! Not too shabby considering I've never shot at 200 yards before - target looked like the point of a pin at that distance. I think I could have done better if I had a more stable barrel rest, as I had my barrel rest sitting on my spotting scope case, and it was moving around some.
Here are some pictures: The target is one of my 200 yard targets - ten rounds. The targets shown at distance are at 200 yards. Paul Cast_Bullet_Match_1.JPG ( 219 KB | 0
