Title: Re: Pictures for Another Dane. Post by J.C. on Jun 26th, 2012 at 3:10am
Thanks for the reply Tom,
Yes the marks on the floor of the magazine are curious. It looks to me almost like something was riveted or spot welded on there and the the spots drilled off and something used to pry whatever it was off. Pretty poor workmanship compared to the stock work. The stock has had a pistol grip added and a 3/4" extension to the butt. Very nicely done. The previous owner was a much better woodworker than a metal worker. Is it possible that the spot on the chamber could have anything to do with the original attachement of the barrel jacket? I've never looked over one with a jacket so I don't know much about it. However, it certainly doesn't seem like they would have covered that proof mark with any kind of jacket. Thanks again for the info. I have already had more fun shooting and studying up on this rifle than I have invested in it. Did I mention that it came with a set of dies and 19 rounds of ammo. J.C. |
