I wasn't sure if it was something that might have been used a t guard posts or for color guard duty. The 508 pir of the 82nd airborne was honor guard of Ike after the war, and I thought that maybe there was a chance Krags were issued for that duty.
My rifle is a US M1898 and what I've been able to gather, on line, the serial number points to 1901. Unfortunately, My great grandfather replaced the stock on it after the original stock broke, somehow. My aim now is to get the correct parts and pieces to make it correct. Any help with that would be appreciated as well.
