Title: Lyman No. 1 'cocking piece sight'
Post by butlersrangers on Jul 5th, 2012 at 7:01pm
If you see a Krag Cocking-Piece with a dovetail cut across the rear of the knob, it was probably once reto-fitted for this Lyman sight.  (I once had a 1903 RIA 'Springfield' that was wearing one of these).

I would sell my soul for one of those!

gnoahhh:  Don't sell your Soul or body parts!  Save up some money instead.  They show up occasionally on ebay and gunbroker (sights and dovetailed cocking-pieces).  Although they look neat, it is annoying to have a sight 'fly forward' when you are squeezing off a shot.
