That was a rounding-off, it's actually closer to 109xxx - Joe Farmer has the latest info.

A "border" gun would certainly have some interest, but value, unless it was the cutover, probably shouldn't go up by much, if at all, and then only to someone who cares.  :-)

For around 35 years now, my 1896 Rifle 37045 has stood as the highest-known "1896"; the change to "Model 1896" stamping is thought to be around 37100, as the lowest-known "Model" stamped arm is just over that - again, Joe has the data.
