The screw holes do line up exactly with the tapped holes in the barrel. However, the original design for the rail was for rifles where the upper grip wood had been removed and the the holes were placed symmetrically in the rail. In my case I wanted to keep the wood intact so I just moved the hole pattern so that the rail fit into rear sight cut out in the wood. I have given my feedback and photos to KragHaus and he has replied that he will consider changing the location of the hole pattern to fit rifles with the upper grip still in place as the change would not affect mounting it on rifles where the wood has been removed.
Got the rail from KragHaus for about $35 and the scope from SWFA for about $300. The rifle is just a hand-me-down but it is priceless to me due to the character given to it by my 3 previous generations. |
