I went to the range the other day with the 1897 loaded with 220 gr Sierra RN and 40 gr of 4350 @100 yds  I thought I had some SR1 targets as it turned out I only had scope targets.  So I ended up with a 6 oclock post on a white sheet of 8.5x11.  the picture shows the last four shots.  Two one hole groups.  I attribute the difference in either canting the rifle or poor sight picture.  Shooting with original sights.
