Title: Krag Abuse
Post by butlersrangers on Mar 6th, 2014 at 5:10pm
It would appear a good number of Krags were harshly handled, once they were relegated to 'training status' at Military Schools.  A number of KAC forum members have noted missing or broken rear sight binding knobs in the circa 1914 picture of Kemper M.S. students.  This particular Krag shows a lot of stock dents and nicks on a rifle probably only 12 years old at the time of the photo.  (Or, maybe cosmetically or slightly damaged Krags, being considered 'obsolete', were relegated to the role of 'trainers' rather than being overhauled or repaired)?

I'd guess that by 1914 Krags were probably not held in high regard when compared to the "new" Springfield.
