I found this picture of my Great,great Grandfather,Private Edward Hoffman and his shiny Krag.He enlisted in 1899,and was honorably discharged in 1902 according to his records that I found.Ancestry.com has been a treasure trove of family info!

That's an incredible find... and an incredible picture too!  Such amazing history.  If only you could find that exact Krag...

Thanks fellas,His paperwork for his military headstone states that he enlisted in Maryland(He was from west Virginia),and that he was in 18th field artillery,and that the U.S.was crossed out in front of "Field Artillery".He was also at a home for disabled volunteer soldiers for a hernia.Such info is great to know!
