Title: More Krag trivia from 1904
Post by butlersrangers on Mar 2nd, 2017 at 7:59pm
My 1904 manual "Firing Regulations" only addressed small arms consisting of the Krag rifle, Krag carbine, and the .38 caliber revolver.

The manual makes no mention of pending developments, like the 1903 Springfield rifle.

However, there is an intriguing reference concerning loading the Krag: "To charge the magazine, open the gate, insert the cartridges from a clip, or from the hand, then close the gate".

"CLIP" !!!

Were 'Parkhurst-Warren device' Krags in competitors' hands?

Were paper 'Gibson cartridge carriers', 'Johnsen magazine chargers', or 'Scott clips' being utilized by shooters?

Was 'time traveler' psteinmayer peddling his craft on America's Military Ranges?

Very interesting ..... (well kind of).
