Was the front sight base milled on the barrel, or was it a seperate piece that was silver soldered on? TIA

It's a separate piece brazed in. Note that the finish and workmanship are so good that you have to ask.

Thanks Don. I figured that out today. Heated the barrel up and drove the sight base off. It is one of the best dovetail and brazing jobs I have ever seen. The base is in good condition, so I can use it again, when I fit my new barrel.
