Thanks, she does look nicer than she did! This rifle was a mess when I got it. I used info from other posts here to clean her up without damaging her asthetics.

If anyone has an info on her serial number 1670, please let me know. I know from reading other posts, that specific serial number unit assignments are hit and miss.

Oh wait a second, I thought you meant where the cleaning rod channel was filled in at the armory, which it was. If you mean was the stock hacked and then un-hacked to turn it back in full length, I don't think so.

It'd be worthwhile to check.  Scroll back up to your first photo and look at the "tiger striping" on the forearm and contrast that to the "solidness" of the stock behind the band. 

It's a very nice looking rifle.  The stock looks very clean.  Check for the join.  If it's not there, and I hope it's just your photo lighting, then go with the "nice rifle" bit.

That is my favorite model.  I hope it's your photo but look carefully at the stock under the band.
