waterman: Pretty amazing experiment. He didn't mention where the striker, bolt innards, and extractor ended up. It's nice to know the bolt handle and the bolt rib give us some insurance the bolt-body will stay put. I wonder if he is listing the parts on eBay or GunBroker?

Amazing information! Just goes to show what us Krag enthusiasts always knew... that the 30-40 Krag is an incredibly well designed weapon, and given a bad reputation and a short lifespan... and not the respect it really deserves!
