It was really cool yesterday that we got to see pictures of two 1895 marked Krag carbines that were only 75 numbers apart.  Both carbines have interesting provenance.  'Florida Native' (a 4 1/2 year member) again shared pictures of his Grandfather's carbine and Shooting Medals and his Grandfather with other early Florida NM competitors.
  It would be great if 'Florida Native' can take pictures of his Grandfather's Krag Rifle sometime and post those on the KCA Forum.
  The National Matches started at Sea Girt, N.J. in 1903.  In 1904, the National Matches were fired at Ft. Riley, Kansas.  In 1905 and 1906 the National Matches returned to Sea Girt.  In 1907, Camp Perry opened and first hosted the NM.  'Florida Native' has shared a neat Time Capsule of those early years.
  Frank Mallory, in "The Krag Rifle Story", published a picture of the Infantry Team, led by Townsend Whelen, at the 1903 National Matches (Sea Girt, N.J.).  The uniforms of the Florida Shooters (possibly a mix of Cavalry and Infantry, Fla. State Militia) are quite contemporary.
