Title: Another fake carbine sight.

A 'carbine' much hyped on GunBroker and expensively priced has a fake 1902 carbine sight. The too high base elevation-curves, and style & size of the "C" are not right.

I get my morels up the hollow, in the spring. A scruple = 20gr. The C is on the wrong side of the base isn't it? 98C is on that side.

My real 1902 carbine sight has the "c" on the right side of the base, but, IIRC some legitimate sights have the "c" on the left-side.

(Attached photos of genuine 1898 and 1902 rear sights - carbine version. The 1902 sight has the 1903 Springfield elevation - 'lock screw' head. Also note, the "c" was stamped before the sight base was 'browned' and there is no disrupted metal).

Oh, I remember this discussion coming up before now.  The 02C can have the C on either side.  Sorry about that.

Only on every other Saturday, when the 'Old-timer' worked!
