I visited a nearby pack rat yesterday after a range trip.  He got rummaging around and found one of a couple old cartridges he thought he had.  I checked it out once I got home and it's an Model 1893 Krag blank.  It was replaced with the paper bullet blanks Model 1896, so the one he gave me could be at least as old as my 1895 made 92/96s!  No headstamp, and it weighs 240gr, must still have powder in it.  I'll have to get him thinking about where the other one is.
