Title: Krag ejector
Post by Max1066_33 on Sep 5th, 2016 at 7:55pm
I'm restoring an 1898 Springfield Krag and the ejector and pin came off. I was wondering if some could send me a pic of where this piece goes exactly.

Thank you.

'Max1066' - Welcome to the KCA Forum.

The Krag Ejector fits into a recess in the receiver below the bolt.

The Ejector's 'pivot pin' enters the receiver from the left. Its hole is covered by the side-plate. The 'slotted' end of the pin is exposed, until covered by the side-plate. (A hole in the plate allows the pin to project a bit).

Thank you very much. I'm really surprised that it came out.

Old dried grease usually keeps the pin from 'falling out'. However, the pin was intended to be easily removed, with the side-plate off. The pin was grooved so that it could be 'gripped'.

Thank you. The rifle was full of gunk and rust. So when I degreased and de-rusted it, I guess that loosened the ejector pin.
