Serial Number  171849 98 R 07 15 99 26TH USV INF (ISSUED)   This is the info from the SRS books

It was originally a rifle that was converted  Benicia Arsenal/DCM Krag Carbine

It was shipped to the Philippines The 26th United States Volunteer Infantry arrived in Manila on the 24th of October, 1899

after returning to the U.S. it was involved in the Brownsville Raid you can google that  I have letters and documents showing this serial number 171849 was in chest # 7120

I have copies of U.S. ordnance documents from Springfield research  .  Documents will be shared with purchaser along with a digital copy of the SRS books showing this rifle
