Not sure I understand, exactly. Your description would appear to have some conflicts.

The barrel is a solid bar of steel, lacking a bore all the way through, but does have a chamber? Or, could the bore just be filthy dirty or terribly leaded - to the point that it looks smooth? Is the barrel properly finished on the exterior, with correct sight mountings, etc?

If the face of the bolt is "brazed over", how does the firing pin protrude? 

I have never heard of anything even close to what you describe.
