Title: My first Krag Post by Sapper44 on Sep 23rd, 2017 at 1:55am
Hello all;
Just purchased my first Krag. Model 1898 Rifle SN# 159173. Picked it up at Jackson Armory in Dallas for $400. This is my first Krag of my own, but learned to shoot on my grandfathers Krag carbine he brought home from the Philippines after WWII. Unfortunately the carbine was lost years ago in one of my uncles divorces. Always wanted one of my own! |

Howdy Sapper44. Welcome to the forum, and wonderful world of Krags. Careful... They're addicting!
Unfortunately, sometimes, Krags are treated like kids in divorces... and become collateral damage! How about posting some pictures of your new Krag for all to share? |

Is there anyone who can check the "SRS" info on my SN#? Thanks;

#159173? Close, but, no cigar!
Your number is bracketed by #159167 (1898 rifle issued in 1899 to Co. F, 35th US Vol. Inf.) and #159174 (1898 rifle issued 06/08/1900 to Co. F, 33rd US Vol. Inf.). Christian - Your number not being listed pretty much guarantees it did not go to the 33rd or 35th USV Inf. |

Thank you, I'm pretty new to all this and any help is really great!
