You didn't ask about serial number. No 'SRS hit' on U.S. Krag, #164004.
It is bracketed by #163993 and #164014, both model 1898 rifles, issued 06/08/1900, to Co. F, 33rd USV Inf. It is likely your Krag was assembled around January, 1899. IMHO - Your oral history, passed down through your family with this Krag, is far more interesting than SRS data. Contact 'psteinmayer' if you need 'speed-loaders'. He makes nice ones. |
