Title: $50 a round
Post by butlersrangers on Nov 27th, 2017 at 6:58am
This cartridge is being auctioned on GunBroker for $50.

It is described as being a rare experimental cartridge.

It is marked "F 98" on the base per GB listing.

Sounds and looks like a regular issue Frankford Arsenal round from 1898 to me!

This kind of thing makes me really mad, because it targets and takes advantage of the "new guys". I don't think it an unintentional mistake.

Maybe.  I've spent some big money for any 6mm usn rounds ten years ago because 1) I had more money than brains at that moment, 2) It was something I had thought about and come to the conclusion it was worth the price even in the present day.

Remember we all have our own level of madness.  Some folks' madness is fifty bucks a round.  Mine happened to Twenty-two grand for a bayonet.

Besides how are the new guys going to learn to find places like KCA if they don't make a few chucklehead mistakes along the way?
