Title: Krag Ammo Crate
Post by Shooter88 on Dec 4th, 2017 at 3:10pm
Hello all. For an early Christmas present I received an old ammo crate for the 1898 Krag rifle. The lettering on it is very faded, however you can make out "1200 Ball Cartridges, Bandoleer, Model 1898, Cal 30, Frankford Arsenal." On one of the ends it says "Cal 30, Model 1898". It also has a tin insert that runs the length of the box. I can't find much about it online, but it goes great in my collection along with my 1896 Krag. I also have a full unopened bandoleer of 30-40 ammo that is dated 1906. So it fits right in. Was wondering if anyone could tell me more about it or if there is anything I should look for on it. Thanks!

I have a Krag that was handed down to me, along with two crates of ammo. They are filled with bandoliers of ammo, I have been told WWII era, I just know what I have been told. One case is sealed and one is opened, I shot a few rounds when I was a little kid about 40 years ago.. Im not looking to sell, but is it worth anything? Its just fun to know!
