Title: Re: Krags in the Philippines

Purchased a photo album off of eBay that had been acquired  from an estate sale.  The album had been water damaged and was advertised as such.  I purchased it because of my interest in the history of the Krag rifle and Spanish America War.  The photo album had been extensively water damaged and mold growth was rampant (did someone say biohazard).  I posted some of the better pics, however all of them needed photo enhancing. Much of the other photos dealt with camp life, ceremonies,  scenery, locals, etc. Much like any other photo album or scrap book. IMHO: I don't believe all the items in the album are photos but in fact post cards.  The following is what the seller had to say:

"This photo album, directly from estate of family of soldier, contains 66 never before seen original Spanish American war era photos that I believe were all or mostly taken in Manila / the Philippines in late 1800s or early 1900s."

"I have included samples of the 66 photos.  Photos are of military, locals, and some scenery. Some photos are crisp and clear and others are faded and a few are damaged from pages sticking together.    Sold as found, as is.  All pictures are originals."

Album is 10x8 inches and photos vary in size including 6.5" x 4.5",  5.5"x3.5", 3"x3".

"Starting bid is priced to sell, as we don't have time to break these up and sell individually."

"We are an established antiques trader in historic Franklin, Tennessee with a passion for providing  hard to find historic items at a fair price to the people that will love and care for them."
