'Baltimoreed' - Actually, the barrel-band you are asking about is for the 1903 Springfield. It was made before WW2, but, a Bubba 're-purposed' it.
I tidied it up a bit, because it had been mutilated and used on a different Krag cut-down rifle. It was in my junk box. I have tried to fit it to the Krag barrel contour and make it look sort of like the barrel-band used on 1903 Sporters and .22s. It is a stopgap solution until I come up with a better idea. You are correct. WW2 1903-A3 Rifles, made by Remington and Smith-Corona, had simple barrel-bands made from stampings. |
