Sort of:

1903 Springfield and Krag rifle rear barrel-band/swivel screws and Stacking-Swivel screws can be made to serve as side-plate screws to hold the 'no-drill' Redfield sight in place.

Sometimes, these swivel screws have had their tip 'mushroomed'. This has to be cleaned up or it is difficult to start the screw into the side-plate hole.

(This is no big deal because the screw has to be shortened a bit anyways).

Also, the diameter, of some of the screw shank, has to be reduced between where the threads end and the screw head. This is so the screw can enter the tapped receiver hole, deep enough, to clamp the Redfield base against the side-plate.

I have made such diameter adjustments by 'chucking' the screw-threads lightly in my Power Drill and holding a small File against the shank as it turns.

(Years ago, I bought some Replica swivel-screws that I could alter without feeling guilty. Now, I'm almost out of them and can't find more).

Photo contrasting screws. 2nd photo shows why rear barrel-band screw is better candidate.
