Here is another one of these krag stock .. I got these from a well known gunsmith here where I live ... He is a old world German gunsmith who if you take a gun to him to get sporterised he uses the existing military stock and laminates peaces on and dose beautiful checkering and I posted some pictures on other guns of a Mauser model 98 and a Mauser model 1895 that he sporterized for me ...

I like the simple elegance of the design.  What kind of wood is that?  Looks too blond to be black walnut
