That is an interesting Range and Backstop. Is it in an old limestone quarry?

What is the maximum range?

Nice rifles, nice photos. A model 8 or 81 Remington is on my want list. I need to get my Krag to the range. Haven't fired it in a while.

Last month I found this customized 1898 Krag.  I originally spotted it in April and told the fellow if he was going to sell it contact me.
No one in the family was interested.
I found that it shot 3 feet high at 100 yards with my 200 grain cast bullets.
Used the aperture on the ladder and was hitting the 200 yard plates at 200 yards without a sight adjustment.
Sometimes you are lucky!

Nice carbine and bullets Elfego Baca!

I, myself, hope to be ringing in the New Year by nailing steel targets at 200 yards.  As soon as I get set up to reload 30-40 ammo.

BTW: Elfego Baca was an interesting individual.  A true self-made-man.
