Title: Handgun Fun
Post by butlersrangers on Oct 28th, 2018 at 5:28pm
During the last 15 years, I have picked-up some decent 'used' replica handguns.
They were 'imports', relatively inexpensive, well 'tuned', and virtually brand new. They have the added charm of having 'facsimile' U.S. Military markings.

Shooting cost is low, reloading for them is fun and easy, and performance is good.

There is the added comfort of modern steel and no guilt about putting wear & tear on expensive rare collectibles.

I recently added a 'CO2 Schofield', which is a hoot to shoot in the yard!

I think they look good and I enjoy them.

My "Schofield" is marked 'Stoeger-Uberti' and is in .45 Colt. It is a sweet shooter!

I could not believe it, when it showed up at the William's Gun Sight Store, 'hardly used' and priced very reasonable. (I guess a Cowboy Action Shooter really wanted a Ruger "Vaquero" and traded-in the Schofield)!

The Uberti has a lengthened cylinder and accepts regular .45 Colt ammo. But, I like to use shorter ".45 Cowboy Special" cases, that reload with my .45ACP Carbide Dies and a .45 Colt shell-holder.

I use 5.3 grains of WW-231 and 200 grain swaged Semi-Wad Cutters. Accurate & pleasant target load, shoots close to point of aim, and easy to clean - Easy Peasy!

I am also growing fond of that, short barreled, "Cimarron SAA". It is 'new-used', but, came with an Antique Finish. It is one smooth operating SAA and looks like it got dragged all over the Philippines. It looks good with a Krag carbine!

Very nice replicas!

Davide Pedersoli and Uberti Italian manufactured replicas are some fine looking and shooting firearms.
