Title: Beautiful 1894 Krag Sold at Auction
Post by Whig on Nov 7th, 2018 at 5:42pm
I just read the description and looked at the jaw-dropping pictures of an extremely early 1894 Krag sold in September at Rock Island Auctions for...$46,000!!!

I haven't seen every detail but it is serial number 33 with the original stock with a clear SWP/1894 Cartouche, a full front barrel band, brass tipped RamRod and other early features we rarely see on any Krag.

I still am amazed at the price but there aren't more than a few of these beauties kicking around out there in private hands.

I'm proud to own a later 1892/1894 original matching Krag in great shape but no where near this one. Mine is probably worth a little more than a tenth of this price!

So, check it out and get ready to drool:

That is a seriously great specimen and in amazingly good shape. I had no idea that a Krag Jorgensen would be worth that much, unless it was owned by somebody famous.
