Here is an October 1892 article from "The Railroad and Engineering Journal". It was written after the Board recommended the Krag-Jorgensen design, but before it was approved by the War Department. It has info on gun development and some insightful comments.

It is actually kind of fun trying to find info on the Krag Jorgensen. I try to think up different word searches and almost always come up with something in the "book" section. Then look for the copyright date as the old ones will be "readable". I have not posted all that I found, only things that may be of interest to others. I do keep an "electronic library" for future referencing. I'll get burned out on this some day, but there still seems to be so much out there yet to find.
