FWIW - I repeated measuring process using a vernier-caliper.
On the carbine barrel, my measurement readings varied, between .406" to .410", from muzzle to front 'lip' of flared sight base. (Readings varied about the thickness of a sheet of copier paper). Repeating the process on a full-length rifle barrel, the measurement was consistently .425 inches from muzzle crown to front 'lip' of sight base. |
