Title: Krag Carbine Stock on eBay Post by lgr1613 on Dec 22nd, 2018 at 3:35pm
Has anyone seen the "U.S. Springfield Krag Carbine Stock" on eBay. Just posted yesterday I think. It has a forend with provisions for a band but is obviously shorter than standard. Is this a stock for one of the Philippine rifles or a cadet rifle or....? Photos are not the best quality so can not see any markings. Interesting, but expensive!
There is what appears to be a 'real' 1896 carbine stock on as well. Opinions? Lewis |

One can find complete cut down rifles cheaper than that! Judging by the thick wrist and bolt handle cutout, it's a 96 stock. Appears to be one made of Italian walnut.

'lgr1613' - I noticed one stock that appears to be a cut-down model 1896 rifle stock priced at over $303.
It has damage in the bolt-handle area, fine cracks, a chip at the front action area, and it is obviously heavily sanded. The stock tip has incorrect contour for front band. IMHO - grossly over-priced! |

This is a re-list. What I mean is that this stock was sold by a different seller a couple-few weeks ago. I was watching this stock. It last sold for a little over $200. I messaged this current seller noting this and asking what they were selling it. He just stated that they buy from many people; not really answering my question. I decided that I could build a short rifle stock using a cheaper butt stock and a $45 repair forend for much cheaper. Plenty of youtube videos showing how to do this.....basically repairing a Duffle cut stock.

Well, if one wants to buy and re-sell for a profit, one should buy a quality item to start with. This one has too many issues and too high a price!
