Krag off GB plus shipping:  306.50
forestock                         60.00
butplate/screws                36.00
front band                        60.00
bolt                                 75.00
Handguard                        70.00

Total                             607.50! and I did not include FFL!

Shoulda let the other guy have it.

I will enjoy putting this together but will be lucky to break even, would not have done it but somehow I have managed to pick up 3 bolts. This is especially troubling as Jack Schwartz is no longer in business and If I use the one handguard I have remaining I can not replace it. oof.

Mark

Of course you could replace it. Making a Krag handguard is a pretty basic hand woodworking project with a bit of rudimentary sheet metal bending and riveting thrown in. No rocket surgery required!

This one used to be an old chair leg, a steel packing band, four nails and a snort of raw linseed oil -

CT, huh? We're practically neighbors. I was in CT weekend before last. Anywhere New Haven? My son goes to school in NH.

Well your work here is very very nice. How many hours to make something like that? your skills are way past mine!

You mind if I add your rifle to the KCA serial number database?
