I attended a gun show in Princeton, Illinois yesterday with a cousin from Wisconsin and came across a bubba'ed Krag bayonet. The catch was functional and it is clearly marked U.S and 1900. The wood is OK. But bubba had taken it to a grinding wheel making the blade thinner to where their isn't much of a blood groove and looked to be more of a clip point, but not quite. I felt sorry for what had been done to it, so for $15 I took it home.

The day ended with shooting my cousins newly acquired 1873 Winchester built in 1884 (38-40 caliber). Smaller and handier then I thought it would be. Then I had to let him shoot my 1892 Krag, which was altered to 1896. This was a first for him. He shot it better than I have sending cans in the air after being hit. Yeah, we are a little old fashion that way.
