Title: Parkhurst obit
Post by butlersrangers on Apr 19th, 2019 at 2:54pm
This August 22, 1901 - "American Machinist Magazine" obituary was found by 'Knute1'.

I thought it quite interesting and have attached a copy. It's nice to put a face on a name!

Also attached is a brief Ordnance Department note on Parkhurst Clip (trial summary) and Patent Drawing ('Cartridge Packet').

(Note - Patent was granted in 1905. Mr. Parkhurst was deceased and his wife, Julie E. Parkhurst, was 'Executrix').

Thanks BR for posting with the article. I've been having trouble with sizing my PhotoBucket  files and should learn to post a different way. Until I do, I may have to "tee it up" for somebody like yourself. I think it is good when we can get items like these documented and be able to refer back to them.
It would be nice to know the details why the military thought that the Parkhurst clip didn't warrant acceptance.
