The sight on this rifle looks to be a correct, 1892/1894 Rifle sight. The hand guard looks to be for an 1896 rifle, but could, as I recall, be used for the 1894 as well. The presence of the band spring is hopeful for determining the suitability for the rifle, but since there were no 1894 carbines to speak of, the stock is also from an 1896 model, but a carbine, probably.
